When you are a one woman blogger-mom-psychologist-wife-lady-who-likes-her-eight-hours, there is constantly juggling going on. I’m not complaining. Busy feels good. But sometimes, something’s gotta give – lest it be my sanity. In this case, I’ve become a little lax in my regular blog posting. On purpose…and for very good reason:
Damask Love is undergoing a pretty sizable overhaul with the help of my beloved web gurus at Roundhouse Designs. We are working behind the scenes to develop a great new site. The new home for Damask Love will include all your favorites plus a few exciting additions.
There will forever and always be your must have craft & DIY tutorials – because that’s what I do best. You should see the state of my craft desk right now. Hot. Mess. Express. There are so many projectsΒ waiting in the rafters. Get excited, people. Trust.
As for the new stuff, Β I’m takingΒ aΒ plunge. And,Β I’m scared. I’ll be sharing more about me. About my life and about my journey as a blogger. Here’s the dealio: I feel like we’re friends. Is that sad? Pathetic, maybe?Β Well, it’s true. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye. I feel like we are homies. Buds. Amigos. Partners in crafty crime. So naturally, there are so many conversations I want to have with you that go beyondΒ the 1-2-3 of how to make a stationery organizerΒ (although, I think we can all agree that organized stationery is of the utmost importance). Β Let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Like, why do people leave hateful blog comments ? Or, how I am still figuring out how to feel like a human after having a baby. The struggle is real.
It’s all in the name of keeping it real and stoking the fire of my creative passions. Let’s keep this ride going. We’re homies, afterall.
Oh! Looking forward to it. π
He’s so cute in that picture! I love it! Also looking forward to what’s coming down the pipeline!
Looking forward to the changes! I’m with you – just had my second baby & trying to figure out the being human thing. It’ll be nice to share the journey! By the way – he’s soon cute!
I meant to type soooo cute…grr autocorrect!!!
Beth, you created and gave birth to another human being. You already got it figured out. Take your time, do what feels right to you and remember…You gave birth and no one can top that! Well, except another birth-laboring momma!
Looking forward to your new site, busy lady.
Looking forward to whatever you offer. Adorable little babes on your hip, BTW.
first it must be said that that child is A-dorable – such cheeks – are they legal? LOL Very much looking forward to seeing what you’ve got coming. And the mommy-dom – i’m sorry to say it takes a lifetime of adjusting but that’s okay sweetie – it, as you have already found i’m sure, is totally worth it. oh and the haters… please… dont even give them another thought π
Good luck pretty mama and friend in my head. You’re so crafty, you make people! He’s just gorgeous!
I agree with you 100% about being busy, trying to organize career with passion of crafting, and about mean people and their comments. Also, he is so adorable and growing so fast!!
OMG What.A.Beautiful.Picture. Can’t wait for this new ride with you!
What a precious little one!! You keep up the good work as best you know how. We all have so little time to do the things we would like, however when there is a child involved, they come first on our daily to do list. You only have one chance at their childhood so whatever you do in your blogging world, we who love you, will be around to see what your doing! Look forward to what’s coming!!!!
It hurts me to read that some comments have been mean. Goodness this is a crafts blog…uh, things we do for ourselves to make others (and ourselves!) happy!! I guess you can just feel fortunate that you’re grounded enough not to act and feel as they do.
Enough of that! I love your stuff and your son is just too, too, much. As a mom of two boys (ages 34 & 27) I can honestly say that the day will come when you wish you could hold them in your arms again and give them even more love, time, and patience!!
Amber, Whatever you have planned will be inspiring. You are one talented lady and your baby…come on! Beautiful!
Looking forward to your renovations.
Nancy
He is ADORABLE. Seriously. What a cutie. I don’t know how you do it all. At that stage, I was lucky to get out of pajamas and into actual clothing. Enjoy every second of it. It goes too fast. (But then comes grandchildren…YES! Only two more weeks until Grandma Camp, which some people know as spring break.)
One of the things I love about paper crafting blogs and communities is the general air of encouragement and helpfulness I find. I am mulling over starting a blog and the inevitable negativity is one thing that is on the ‘con’ side of the decision. Let’s all agree to just delete the mean stuff, OK? There are plenty of other places on the web for them to vent their meanness if they must attempt to stir up drama.
And it isn’t pathetic… your readers do feel like friends. At least, this one does.
You will no longer feel human after having a baby… that’s because you are now a super-human. You may not always feel it, act like it, or even bother to pretend you are one but you are. You will feel more excited than you think possible over mundane things and a mom-load of guilt over the littlest thing and everything in between. Best wishes to you!
looking forward to the new site – and your little guy is the cutest ever!!
I follow your blog daily. Love your creativity and appreciate all that you share. I laughed as I read this post. You have such a fun personality and that is why I also enjoy reading your posts. take care, looking forward to what you have in store.
Your baby is soooo adorable! Looking forward to your new site, I’m a regular visitor, and what left me speechless is that how could somebody leave a hateful comment? After all you give us?, that’s not right, and I apologize for that.
None cuter. Oops, except my own kid, of course!!! Miss you when you don’t post, DO feel like you’re my bestie, (first time I ever used THAT word!), and totally understand when real life gets in the way, and my kid, ya, the cute one, is headed off to college in the fall and i’m still struggling with the ‘time’ issue. So be very patient in getting your own life back, but never forget to enjoy the ride!
I love your blog and always leave inspired, so I am really looking forward to the new site!! I can’t believe that people would be mean!! Seriously!!!
I love your blog! Life will settle down and get back to a new normal in time. Give yourself time and savor every moment with your sweet little guy! The rest of us will wait for you!
Cutest photo of a mom and their adorable baby, ever! A huge congrats, and, yes, I love your idea to expand and enrich your blog. It can only make a great blog even greater! Take the plunge. We’re all waiting for you!
I just figured you were “tied” up with the baby! You’re a Type A personality, aren’t you? Looking forward to everything coming:)
I don’t understand mean comments either. If a criticism is not BOTH kind AND helpful (builds up) then it must be meant to tear down. And girl, you have got NO TIME to worry about dark-hearted people airing their nasty opinions. Please please please do not let their words have any space in your heart. Honestly, if you cannot learn from it then it is useless. Haters? No1curr.
Yes, We are friends! I have to visit you every day! I love your blog, and look forward what is coming! And baby Markus is so adorable!
I have always enjoyed your site, but will love it even more now. Looking forward to your redesign and getting to know you better. XO Markus…adorable. π
The suspense is killing me! Can’t wait. Give me that baby!
You are such a super women. Love your blog and your creative ideas. Glad to hear you will keep them coming.
You are such a super women. Love your blog and your creative ideas. Glad to hear you will keep them coming.
We are homies. Totes. And I can’t wait! π
I don’t have a crafty friend that is as much fun or as cool as you are – so I am honored to be your friend! π
As for the “mean” comments… I don’t have a blog but I have seen comments on others – I just don’t understand it at all. I agree with another “friend” here – delete it. My momma taught me “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”… I know – very old school… but true… lol
I don’t have kids so I can’t help there but it sounds like there are plenty of your friends here with experience.
I always look forward to your blog posts and am open to whatever you bring.
And finally – I LOVE the picture! How adorable!!!!
I can’t wait to see the changes to your blog. I appreciate your hard work. I cannot figure out the logic behind mean blog comments. You don’t like? Then keep it movin’ . Why waste precious time on meanness?
Your little baby is so cute! The mommy fog will lift. Faster than you can imagine. From one multi-tasking mom to another, we got this. Just don’t try to think too hard about it.. Lol.
Change is always good and exciting. Little boy is darling.
What an adorable picture Amber. I really enjoy and appreciate every crafty post. I can’t imagine how you can improve on an already super fun blog but I’m looking forward to what ever is around the corner. Blessings….
SURE we’re Amigas! And I’m so glad to hear from you! By the way: such a cute baby you have!
Thank you for sharing a pic of the cutest little boy ever! and of course your wonderful smile. I don’t even remember how I found your blog, but after just reading it once I signed up for e-mails. Your writing is like having you at my table for a chat and craft session. Best wishes for your blog changes…just keep repeating, change is good, change is good. Your a Mom now and you will spend the rest of your life balancing. As for the “negative nellie’s” they are just sad people and hopefully, someday will find their happy place.
I love the picture of you two in your hard hats and he is so adorable..makes you just want to kiss those chubby little cheeks.
I don’t understand negative comments about people who are being helpful. I’ve seen it on other sites and those people just come across as petty. Please ignore and keep up the good work.
Love the pic! That little boy of yours is ADORABLE! <3 Can't wait to see your new blog launch! π
Ok Missy..did you use the Cricut Explorer to CREATE that gorgeous project you’re holding?! Heehee..he’s lovely. Keep your head up, keep inspiring us and know that I appreciate all you share no matter how many times you blog/don’t blog; I know you’re keeping it real and making me step outside my comfort zone. and I’m TWICE your age. Ignore the haters because God has blessed your heart and spirit to share your creativity with the world. His opinion is the only one that matters.
What a fantastic picture! Your son is so handsome! I have followed your blog for quite a while now and can’t wait to hear more from you. Ignore the negative comments because they are just jealous of you!
That baby is beautiful!!! Good job! However, he does not define you. YOU define you; and your beautiful family merely adds to you!
We are definitely friends! You have no idea how often I turn to you for ideas and inspiration. And you certainly share some of the most creative projects with great detail and easy to follow instructions. I love how there is always some humor included in your how to and blog post. I’m so looking forward to getting to know you more. I have a feeling I’m going to like you even more. As for the negative comments, obviously their momma didn’t teach them one of the golden rules…”if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”…can’t even count how many times I’ve heard this growing up. :o) And you can rest assured, that I passed it along to my two sons.
On behalf of homies everywhere….WE CAN’T WAIT!! (the baby is da bomb, by the way!)
They just recently have something that qualifies as a league for women there.
He also expresses extreme gratitude to the supporters.
Brazil has been working hard to get their stadiums in good condition as they are hosting the World Cup (soccer) this summer.
Can’t wait to see the new site. And of course we’re buds. I mean hello, we’re both named “Amber”, have new little people in our lives and have a passion (mine is still growing) for crafting! ( = Good luck with the overhaul!!! And keep posting pics of that cutie pie!
Adorable photo!!! And when you win something that big, there are always going to be haters, it’s sad, but true. People just can’t be happy for someone no matter what. I mean someone who put her heart out there into her work in the public deserves a lot of cred, not hate and jealously…it’s pretty much what it is. So keep doing what you’re doing and keep being you. xoxo
There’s certainly a great deal to learn about this issue.
I really like all of the points you’ve made.
Well hallelujah and amen! I’ve been waiting for you to make the decision to start sharing more on a personal level. Something WONDERFUL happens with us women when we become REAL and open up about our life’s journeys-good and bad. Looking forward to seeing more pics of that CUTIE PIE baby of yours. OMG is he the most adorable!!
The advice of how itβs better to buy the worst house in the best location is true. Yet, the worst house can often have the worst issues.
