Ever since I got my box of Martha Stewart Jewelry supplies, I’ve been making jewelry like nobody’s business. I’ve got enough necklaces in here to make Mister T proud.
Last week, I posted THESE charm necklaces which are very easy to make. Today’s jewelry ensemble takes a totally different approach with a floral vintage feel. With all the charms in the Martha Stewart Jewelry line, it wasn’t too difficult to piece together a few of my favorites to create this look.
In today’s post you’ll find TONS of tips and mini-tutorials for crafting your own jewelry. My hope is that you’ll leave feeling inspired to give it a try! For me, paper crafting is my typical “go-to” hobby, and this assignment has gotten me all ramped up to add jewelry-making to my list!
This whole project centers around “the necklace.” I wanted something drapey, layered and a little bit “messy” looking. The nice thing about creating something “messy”, is that you can’t really go wrong! I included different chains and a collection of charms. The ribbon closure is the perfect addition to this piece.
The leaf charm on this necklace is made from Martha Stewart Epoxy Clays and Molds that are a part of this collection. I’m not gonna lie – I was a little intimidated by them at first, but I’m happy to report that they are very easy to use.
You will have to exercise some patience since they take 24 hours to dry. Also, when working with the clay, you may want to keep some wipes on hand since they can get a little sticky and leave a bit of residue on your hands. No staining though, so don’t worry about that!
{1} To create epoxy charms and embellishments, you’ll need a silicone mold, epoxy clay and a bit of olive oil.
{2} Rub a bit of olive oil in the palm of your hand. This will help with the stickiness of the clays.
{3} Create two equal sized balls of the colored clay and the white activator.
{4} Combine the two balls until they form one uniform color.
{5} Press the clay into the mold and use a bit of olive oil to smooth the backs. Allow the clay to dry for 24 hours and them remove from the mold.
By the time I was finished making this necklace, my jewelry-making wheels were spinning! I was trying to come up with an unexpected way to use my supplies. After an hour or so – and a trip to the dishware cabinet in our kitchen, I came up with this…
Yep! There’s more. I just had to share these stud earring and their yummy packaging. After making the earrings, I mounted them on a paper doily which I cut from the Doily Lace patterned paper pad. From there, I used my scoring board to create a gift box. Perfect birthday gift!

In terms of purchasing regular gold and so on, you should absolutely consider where you may go about this case. I, for example, enjoy purchasing gold jewelry as a gift to give to family and friends.
