Did you see THIS post about the Spread the Love Campaign? You’ll wanna go check it out because chances are you will want to participate…so go ahead…take a look. I’ll wait…
You back? Ok great! The time has come for me to reveal my own “blog crush.” This was tough. I have a lot of blog crushes…a least thirty. I guess I’m a little bloghussy. I’m crushing on everyone. When it comes down to my biggest crush of the moment…
First of all…how can you not love a blog called You Are My Fave? It sort of has to be your fave, right? Well, luckily Melanie Blodgett has created a blog that is totally deserving of it’s name. Among all the awesome things happening over on the blog, You Are My Fave is very well known for the “in a box” posts. Melanie creates awesomely curated collections of goodies all surrounded by the same theme…then she puts em in a box. Some of my “faves” have been her Breakfast in a Box, Easter in a Box…and then of course there’s the Pretty Package in a Box that speaks to my paper-loving soul. Her “in a box” collections almost function like “mood boards” to inspire my creativity.
The “in a box” series on You Are My Fave has also inspired me to create collections of handcrafted goodness. Same idea … just with a handcrafted twist…like my Rustic Winter in a Box project!
Today, I’ve have another handcrafted “in a box” project to share inspired in party by my blog crush.
Of course, since this project is for the Spread the Love Campaign, I had to go with a box filled with love spreading items!
{HOMEMADE MINI LOAF OF BREAD} In 2012, I made my first attempt at homemade bread and it ranked as one of my proudest moments of the year! This time around I created mini loaves of bread and it worked out swimmingly. For this project, I simply wrapped the bread loaf with some waxed paper and a strip of paper stamped with the Hearts Plus stamp set and Rouge Ruffles ink.
{MINI JAM} This little mini jar of preserves got a make over with some cardstock and a simple heart stamp.
{STAMPED WOODEN KNIFE} I have a stash of wooden utensils…not entirely sure why, I guess for projects like this! I stamped the wooden knife with the “spread the love” sentiment from the Perfect Harvest Fillers stamp set.
{STAMPED TEA TOWEL} I’ve done this project before and you can see the full tutorial HERE. It’s super simple to do! This time around, I kept with the theme by stamping jars and heart images.
{MASON JAR TWINE TAGS} After sharing my tutorial on bakers twine organization, I am constantly inspired to put my twine to good use. I created cute little packaging for the twine by simply wrapping it around mason jar shapes that were stamped from the Well Preserved Medium stamp set.
{MINI MASON JAR STICKERS} Now that I have a Xyron 1.5″ Sticker Maker, I pretty much want to make a sticker out of everything. I used the Well Preserved: Small stamp set to create a trio of cutie patootie jar stickers.
{DIE CUT THANK YOU CARDS & TAG} With a set of thank you cards, the recipient of this box can continue to spread the love by sharing notes with friends. I created this set by die cutting the “Y” and “U” with the Uppercase Alphabet Die Collection and filling in the “O” with another lovey dovey mason jar from Well Preserved.
And now that you’ve seen my own “in a box” project…head over to You are my Fave to see more “in a box” goodness!
And don’t forget to join in the “Spread the Love” fun! Create your own project and share you own blog crush – then link it up in the Linky Party being hosted on THIS POST.
Wow… now this, my blog friend, is a work of art… love it…
This is awesome. I love what you done and kept the theme through out. It turned out really great. TFS
Phenomenal! Um… would a little ole card be sufficient too???
of course! a card is totally perfect! the only reason I went with this project was because of the “in a box” series that is sort of the trademark of the my blog crush! I would love to see you join the linky party with a card creation!
Marvellous 🙂
