My stance on candy corn is very clear. See. Didn’t like it then. Don’t like it now, but I am totally willing to acknowledge we are in the thick of candy corn season. So if I’m not gonna eat it – which I absolutely will not do – I’ll craft it, in the easiest way ever.
You guys know that I love my circle cutter and I use it for a ton of simple crafts like THIS, THIS and THIS. It’s a great tool to have in your arsenal and if you stick with me, I’ll give you plenty of excuses to use it.
In addition to the tools pictured above, you’ll also need a paper trimmer and/or a pair of good scissors to get this done.
{1} Use the circle cutter to create three circles. The yellow circle should measure 5 1/2″, the orange circle should measure 4″ and the white circle should measure 2 1/2″
{2} Glue the circles together as shown
{3} Use a paper trimmer to cut the circle in half. If you don’t have a paper trimmer, you can use scissors…but you’ve really gotta get yourself a paper trimmer!
{4} Score each half circle down the middle (at 2 3/4″)
{5} Fold the mini card in half
{6} Use scissors to cut down the mini card to mimic the shape of candy corn. I trimmed off about 1/3″ of the card.
These itty bitty cuties measure about 2 1/2″ tall which make them great for accompanying halloween treats.
Seriously adorable!
LOVE!!!
Cute! I feel the same way about candy corn it is in the same family is circus peanuts (yuck)! Although a friend of mine used to eat salted peanuts with her candy corn and I tried it – have to admit it wasn’t too bad – it tasted like one of those salted nut rolls.
My stance on candy corn: I do love to decorate with it…but eat it? Never!!!
Wow!!! You are so super duper creative!!! I have every tool and can’t wait to make this cute card. Thank you so much for the tutorial 🙂
I will buy it every year to keep the family tradition going. My chubby tummy doesn’t need it but I will eat it and dream of my kiddles as they were tiny once….too many years ago.
