Yeah, I know. You’re running a little behind on your holiday cards this year. Don’t worry. I won’t judge. Damask Love is a judgement-free zone.
Not only will I not judge you, I will do you one better – I’m gonna help you out, girlfriend! With a few freebie printable cards that will carry you through all your last-minute holiday crafts and gift giving. By now, you should know that the I love a free printable – and the only way to properly print a free printable (how’s that for some alliteration) is the Canon PIXMA TS9521C. This pretty printer is one of the newest members of the Canon printer family and it’s created with us crafters in mind!
The Canon TS9521C prints borderless 12×12″ (hello scrapbook pages!!) as well as borderless 7×10 (hello, never-buying-another-greeting-card!).
Today, we’re tackling the power of printing your own greeting cards, because it’s just so easy to do – especially when I’m here giving you three card designs for free!
To assemble these cards, you’ll need a few basic crafting tools:
- The Canon PIXMA TS9521C printer
- White cardstock cut to 7×10″ – I love using the Canon Matte Photo paper for this
- White 8.5×11″ cardstock – yep – you guessed it – I use the Canon Matte Photo paper for this too
- A7 envelopes – I love getting envelopes from Paper Source, because they have ever color imaginable
- A paper trimmer
- scissors (not pictured)
- pencil (not pictured)
- a glue stick or tape runner (not pictured)
First up, you’ll need to print all your cards and liners. For the cards, you’ll want to load your 7×10″ cardstock into the rear of the printer. Then select the proper paper and size settings on the printer screen.
For the liners, place your envelope onto the liner design as shown. Make sure part of the envelope hangs off the bottom of the paper since you don’t need the entire envelope to be lined. Trace the edge of the envelope with a pencil.
Cut out your tracing using scissors.
Once you’ve cut out the tracing, you’ll need to trim about 1/2″ off each side of the liner. This will allow for the liner to slide easily into the envelope.
Now you’re ready to fold your card. You can use a mini scoring tool, or simple use a ruler to get a clean crease. Either way, the borderless printing of the Canon TS9521C eliminates any additional trimming you’d need to do on this card.
Happy printing and happy holidays! You may now carry on with all your last minute projects.
