I am almost positive that I could exist on popsicles alone. Maybe with the occasional grilled cheese. Yep. Grilled cheese and popsicles. Pretty sure that covers all the food groups and makes for a very healthy diet… and a raging case of scurvy.
Paper popsicles though – you can make as many as you want, and stay far far from the hospital. Don’t eat them, though. That’d be just as bad as my proposed popsicle-grilled cheese thing.
Last week, we made ice cream cones, so to keep the summertime eats going, today we’re whipping up a batch of popsicles inspired by the Zoku popsicle maker. I tell you – there is crafting inspiration around every corner.
{1} Punch the top portion of the cardstock as shown
{2} Use the nail file to smooth out the corners
{3} Smooth both sides to get a popsicle shape
{4} Adhere mini popsicle stick with craft glue
{5} Use white gel pen to add accent as shown
Once you’ve got the punching technique down, the fun starts as you start to design your favorite flavors. You can get really creative here and combine stripes and embellishments. My favorite flavor is definitely the red, white and blue bomb pop. I could eat those for days! You can also dip your pop in chocolate using the Drippy Goo punch from Martha Stewart.
I have no doubt that you can come up with a ton of ways to use these little popsicles. I opted to simply clip mine to the outside of a handmade set of children’s stationery featuring a coordinating popsicle image that I stamped and colored with Copics.
Hope this project gives you some inspiration to bring a little summertime into your winter. Now tell me – what popsicle flavor is your favorite?!
You are on a roll this week. These are darling!
so cute! and anything to do with warmer weather right now is good, k? lets just say those popsicles would be right at home here!
This is genius! I’ve got to try this!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Loving the popsicles!!!!My 10 year old would love that as stationery.
These are super cute. I made some ice cream cone cookies and I’ll have to try this for the tags for the packaging.
Pleasure to find your blog and browse around.
Have a great week,
Lisa
These are so “cool” I love all of them – I have not had a Popsicle in like forever – my favorite is banana and for some reason I like the root-beer ones too! Remember pudding pops? YUM!
These are sooooooooo darling!! I also loved the ice cream cones you did!!!
I never would have thought of using just part of a punch. Genius!
You are quite simple a genius! (I’m going to leave this comment on all the genius projects of yours that I have just found!)
I’ve never heard of filing paper/ card stock. What a great new technique 9at least for me). And these are lovely, by the way. Thank you!
So cute and cool!!! Great idea!!!
Hi Amber, I know this is an old post but I just came across it. I have to say you’ve done it again, another great idea. I just recently purchased cards with ice cream and ice pops on it to cut out the embellishment to reuse but now…I don’t have to do that. I can just make my own. Thank you. I really love your work!
awesome
Great Idea and I really like the ice cream cones.
Thank you for your post!! Its really awesome to find something that ease my frustrations and something that makes me want to move forward. I found my peace in making scrapbooks! I am constantly looking for ideas I can use to make decorate and design. Currently, I am obsess with any thing underwater / ocean theme designs. I like to use a Whale Coral Octopus Metal Stencils to add in my design which is totally cute. Can you share any underwater theme designs?? Hope you can show us more ways to decorate !! 😀 Thanksss!!
