It’s no secret around here that I am a fan of Valentine’s Day!
So before I get to my post for today – I want to wish everyone the lovey-doviest of days full of fun with your loved ones and maybe even 1, 2 or 10 pieces of Valentine’s chocolate. (It’s 10:30am and I have already had my first Godiva of the day – yummy:-)
In the spirit of the day, here’s a little Valentine’s Day eye candy. It’s a wreath I made about a month ago. It’s been hanging on my door, bringing cheer every day when I come home from work. Here’s the site where I got the inspiration for this wreath (If you aren’t a follower of The Idea Room – you should be!).
I added a little bit of Damask Love flair by stringing some pink beads and dangling them from the center of the wreath.
Now on to today’s project.
Valentine’s Day is not only for significant others but also for friends! I make a point of wishing a Happy Valentine’s Day to my friends – and with that in mind – today’s post is a little something that is perfect for a friend.
First up – the card. Very simple. Very cute.
That little bird is so cute peeking through the window on the front of the card.
And inside…
To go along with this sweet card, I referenced my trusty Martha Stewart Encyclopedia of Crafts and made a bright yellow crepe paper flower. There are also instructions for crepe flowers on Martha’s site (yes, I call her Martha – we’re close like that).
**Sidenote: If you enjoy crafting – you NEED to get Martha Stewart’s Encyclopedia of Crafts!!**
In the language of flowers, a yellow rose symbolizes friendship, so I thought it would be appropriate to use yellow for this friendship inspired creation.
I also made a little paper bud vase to hold my flower. It’s simple to make and I love the blue color with that bright yellow.
Here’s the TEMPLATE for the bud vase.
That’s all for today.
Have a wonderful day!
