Markus and I have a new game that we play. It’s called “magazines.” We love to play magazines. The game goes a little like this: I hold him in my lap and hold a magazine in my hands. He grabs, rips and crumples up the pages. Riveting stuff people. He loves it so bad. The game will go on for as long as I let it. Magazines is the awesomest. There is just one rule. We do not play magazines with momma’s free catalogs. You know? Those catalogs that show up in the mail for absolutely no reason, because you haven’t bought anything at that store in years…and there are some places you’ve never shopped at in your life. Well, I love those catalogs. They are the best. First, they are free and free is my favorite. Next, they are full of inspiration, cool color combinations, great home decor ideas. And did I mention they are free? We don’t play magazine with those treasures. We mostly play magazine with GQ and ESPN. Those are daddy’s magazines. He won’t miss em.

Free catalogs aren’t my only source of inspiration but instead of telling you, just watch…

Well, I guess I have a thing for being inspired by food because I created a really cute iron-on backpack inspired by Ms. Bunnie Cakes, a vegan cupcake shop just minutes from my house. The side of their shop has a huge cupcake mural…so this is what I came up with:

ClickHEreI’m not sure there could be a better proof of how easy “inspiration to creation” really is. I literally pulled up the cupcake image while I was looking at the mural. Love that!
