Are you excited for a full month of holiday crafts, inspiration and giveaways? I am – especially because I ‘m kicking things off which an awesomely easy project that you are going to love, love, love.
Most nights I spend an hour or so on on the iPad doing “research & development.” That’s what I call it – because R&D sounds so much more official than “browsing the internet.” During one particular R&D session, I happened up on THIS. Are you serious? Mini garland? I mean – maybe I’m alone in this excitement, but something tells me I’m not. I know that you and I see eye to eye on this. Mini garland means that I can add lifelike wreaths to all my cute paper crafts. And that’s what’s ’bout to happen people. Brace yourself…and get your credit cards ready because there’s about to be a rush on mini garland.
- mini boxwood garland – the star of the show! It’s available through Amazon in a pack of three mini garlands. At first, I thought this would be too much. Wrong. I’ve used two spools already and I’m worried that I’m going to run out!
- a glue gun – I use this one
- 2.5″ paper circles. I punch mine out using THIS paper punch. You’ll want to stamp the circles with your choice of holiday greeting. You can also handwrite something or use a monogram sticker. Get creative!
- mini bows – for mine, I used the Clear & Simple Stamps Mini Bow Die but I’m not sure that they’re available right now. You can pick up something similar HERE and HERE. Alternatively, you could also use red ribbon to tie a little bow.
- Wide grosgrain ribbon – I am partial to the red & green striped ribbon from May Arts.
- Kraft treat bags
{1} Wrap the garland around the paper circle. Two times around works nicely
{2} The garland is wired so you can use the tail ends to secure the circle.
{3} Apply a few dabs of hot glue to the paper circle then adhere the garland wreath.
Last, you just need to use the hot glue gun to place the red bow. So easy. So pretty.
I’m on a mission to create special holiday treat bags for all my coworkers and these simple wreaths are the perfect embellishment for a kraft gift bag. I’ll prove it.
Now be honest, are you ready to blow your next paycheck on a boxload of this mini garland?! Well, fortunately for one lucky reader you won’t have to do that, because I’ve got a giveaway for you!
