My nerves are at an all time high with this post…Damask Love, afterall is not a cooking blog. That said, these little favors are so easy to make, that they are perfect for crafters like you and me. In just a few minutes you can make ’em and then spend the rest of your time on packaging them up pretty.

If you took a look through the Valentine’s Day issue of Toile, you may have noticed the donut printables on page 41 and today I’m giving you a few more details about just how easy they are to make yourself. So I hope you’ll enjoy this project – even if it does include a little crafting in the kitchen. After all, there is melted cake frosting involved …and I think we can all agree that melted cake frosting is always a good idea.

The supplies for these donut favors are crazy simple and readily available at your local market. The most work you’ll need to do it melt down a few scoops of store-bought cake frosting. To do this, just place the frosting in a microwave-safe dish and give it about 15 seconds. That’s it.

{2} Spoon melted frosting over the donut. You may want to do a few layer of this to get a nice coating.

{3} Sit donuts atop a cooling rack to avoid pools of frosting from forming around the donut.

{4} Add sprinkles before the frosting hardens.

How easy was that?! So, now that we’ve spent our Sunday morning together, go give this one a try. It s a great Valentine’s Day treat, but truthfully you can give these out year round because who in their right mind is going to turn down a donut. Not me.
