I’m excited to share today’s project with you – it’s one of my faves!
I’ve mentioned before that baby season is going strong! I know at least 10 women who are expecting and 5 who have recently given birth! This means that I should always have a few baby themed cards on hand.
Today’s card is also my entry into two current challenges: The Moxie Fab Chevron Chic Challenge and the current Papertrey Ink Make It Monday: Selective Inking challenge.
For the sentiment, I selectively inked two sentiments from the Papertrey Ink Bitty Baby Blessing Set. One that said “Ahoy Little Sailor” and another that said “for baby.”
I love this sentiment because if I were a pirate, I would say “Ahoy, Matey” to adults and “Ahoy, baby” to anyone under the age of 5!
The chevron watermark added the suggestion of waves to this nautical creation!
Finally – how about that lifesaver!?!?! I LOVE IT! I just die cut circles, then wrapped red embroidery thread to create the red stripes. Then, a few loops of bright red ribbon allowed me to thread some jute twine. This mimics the rope that you usually see on lifesaver images!
I absolutely LOVE this card and I can’t wait to share it with a special little baby. Also, if I ever meet a pregnant pirate who’s planning a baby shower – this would be the perfect invitation design!
