Prepare yourself for some serious embossed crafting!
I used to be so intimidated by heat embossing – I mean the darn heat tool heats up to like a bajillion degrees?! You could probably make a grilled cheese sandwich with it.
Fortunately, I have overcome my fear of heat embossing — and only I rely on my stovetop for all grilled cheese sandwich preparation.
**Sidenote: have you ever made a grilled cheese with brie on whole wheat with a little cranberry sauce? Well you should – it’s amazing**
Ok – back to crafting…
This week’s Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge is all about using the heat embossing technique on cards. Given my love for this technique – I went a little crazy with it and made THREE projects! Each with a little different feel to it.
So without further adieu…
First I used Maile Belle’s Modern Basics set (quickly becoming a favorite of mine) to create a monochromatic birthday card. All that purple gives the modern card a richness that I really like.
Next, I created a card with a bit more elegance.
I used the Damask Designs set from Papertrey to watermark the background then added the chandelier focal image, which I embossed with sparkly, black embossing powder.
I even added a bow – Shocking!
Since I had my Damask Designs set out – I had to create one more card…a special one…with a very special Damask Love touch.
Look familiar?!
Thanks for stopping by for some Damask Love today! Have a great Thursday!

All your cards are lovely but your Royal Velvet Modern Basics is speaking to me. The embossing on it makes the card look so rich. I may have to try embossing RV CS.

When I saw the first card, I knew it was going to be my favourite …until I saw the second and the third. They are all gorgeous and ready to be CASEd by me. I love the ribbon treatment on the last card. Keep up the great work…
