If you don’t already own a Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker there’s a very good chance that today’s project will have you running for the stores to get one! Today we are tackling an AWESOME technique that I’m calling “striped vinyl” and I promise you – it’s so so easy! If you don’t believe me, check out today’s Damask Live on Facebook and watch as I walk you through each step!
…and just in case video isn’t your thing – here’s the full photo tutorial!
You will need:
- Strips of Assorted Iron On vinyl Colors
- 10×10 Basswood Canvas
- Cricut Felt Sampler in Carousel
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Easy Press
- Cricut Adhesive Transfer Tape
Place the strips of iron-on, facedown on to the adhesive side of a piece of transfer tape. Make sure your transfer tape is large enough to accommodate the image you will cut from it.
Use your Cricut Maker to cut the images from vinyl and felt. Use a weeding tool on the striped vinyl egg to remove excess pieces.
Place the striped vinyl egg onto the wood canvas, then cover with fabric. This will help protect the transfer tape that is still in place. Use the Easy Press to adhere the striped vinyl onto the wood canvas.
Use craft glue or hot glue to adhere the felt pieces of the chick image.
