This is my second post of the day!! Scroll down for another fun announcement!

It’s release day at Clear and Simple Stamps, which means fun new stamp sets and super stylish inspiration to kick off the summer months.  And with a change in the seasons, I am excited to introduce myself, Amber Daigre, as the new Style Watch editor for Clear and Simple Stamps. YAAAAYYYY!!!! I hope to carry on the fabulousness that you have come to know and love from the newsletter’s previous editor, Simone Pursiful.

Like Simone, I too enjoy exploring color, fashion forward trends, and creating projects inspired by a bounty of beautiful things.  Speaking of beautiful, have you checked out the new CSS release for June? It’s all about aviary with Tweet Notes and Feathers* (a special CSS Daily App released set). Both are absolutely the tweetest sets with a little something for every crafter. I personally love the whimsical images included in Tweet Notes and I swoon for the delicate images in the Feathers set.  You may need both – ya know…just to be safe.

The aviary theme is uber popular amongst papercrafters, lending itself to every style, be it modern or vintage, feminine or masculine. Every month we will have a special theme related to the current stamp of the month and each week we will bring you a storyboard filled with trendy eye candy. …

For a little release day fun, we’ve decided that a challenge is in order! Here are the rules:

  • To ring in this month’s aviary theme, the challenge is to create a project inspired by one (or more) of the images in the Clear and Simple Stamps {JUNE} Style Watch Inspiration Board loaded with a few of my favorite finds from pinterest-land (you know I just love the place).
  • We would love to see you break out your CSS goodies to create, but you don’t need to have CSS in order to play along. Just post your link on my blog {Damask Love} to enter.
  • You can enter as many projects as you would like – it’s all about sharing inspiration!
  • You will have all month long to play. A winner will be chosen on the last day of the month (June 30, 2011), and you will have one week to claim your prize. If the winner has not claimed his/her prize, a new winner will be chosen.
  • THE PRIZE – the winner will receive both the Tweet Notes and Feathers stamp set, AND will have the opportunity to create a bonus project to be published on the CSS Daily App.

I can’t wait to see all of the Awesomely Aviary projects that you will share. In the meantime, be sure to visit with the blogs of the CSS Design Team members.  Each designer has a fabulous project to share.  And while you are visiting, join me in sending a big warm welcome to our (2) new designers: Laurie Willison and Kim Duran.

Until Later, Loverlies!
Amber D.

Now, the inspiration photo for the June Clear and Simple Stamps Challenge!

I chose to design a card based two of the images in the inspiration photo: The rainbow necklace and the colorful birds on a wire picture.

I used a rainbow of baker’s twine and perched a few cut-out birdies on top, which I colored in to match the rainbow theme.

With some selective inking, I added a fun little twist to the “Thinking of You” sentiment!

*Tip: I used my Tombow Watercolor marker to ink up the “you” part of the sentiment. This way I knew the sentiment and image would match perfectly! This is a great strategy for inking small sentiments or images*

I hope you’ll join in on this month’s challenge. I can’t wait to see what you create!
Supplies: (All CSS unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: (Tweet Notes, Thinking of You Limited Edition sentiment set)
Paper: A Blanc Check
Ink: Perfect Little Black Dress
Other: Tombow Watercolor Markers, Twinery Baker’s Twine

Keep on crafting with these other posts

  4. I’m so envious of all the different baker’s twine you have. I only have two colors and I thought that was enough until I saw your GORGEOUS card. So awesome!
