The people at Fiskars have created a monster. Seriously, all I want to do is letterpress my life away! Today I’m excited to talk about what the Fiskars Fuse can DO. This machine makes is incredibly easy to die cut and letterpress with just a few rolls of the crank! Check out the video for a demonstration as well as tips about ink and cleaning your letterpress plates.

I wanted to keep the videos in the range of five minutes, so instead of including live tutorials, I’ve decided to include photos of all the projects. Today, I’ve got a whopping six ideas for how you can use the diecut/letterpressing capabilities of the Fiskars Fuse. Click through to see what I’ve got for you!

Letterpressed paper makes beautiful home decor and table decorations. I love the leaf shape that Fiskars offers and I thought it would be perfect for an autumnal place setting. I’m definitely filing this one away for Thanksgiving!

SUPPLIES:

Fiskars Medium Design Set – Leaf | Lifestyle Crafts Cream Letterpress Paper | Clear and Simple Stamps Fall Frenzy Stamp Set | 80lb cardstock

INSTRUCTIONS:

{1} Fold the 80 lb cardstock in half, then place on the leaf die, without the letterpress plate in place. {2}Allow some of the die to extend beyond the fold of the card {3} Run this through the machine creating a leaf shaped tent-fold.  {4} Die cut and letterpress the autumn leaf shape onto the letterpress paper, then adhere to the tent fold {5} Add a stamped tag and twine

Currently, the Fiskars line up of dies and letterpress plates does not include small individual images. To add small, colorful accents to your letterpressed project, pull out your stamps and add something bold, like these flowers and leaves.

INSTRUCTIONS:

{1} Die cut and letterpress scalloped circle tag with brown pigment ink {2} Stamp with leaf and flower images {3} Add tag to glassine bag with yellow baker’s twine.

I’m a sucker for rainbows! The tag set from Fiskars was just screaming for some rainbow lovin’ when I pulled out this beautiful butterfly letterpress plate! Be sure to clean your plate between making these to be sure that each color is vibrant and true.

When your Fiskars Fuse arrives, it will include two letterpress plates. This beautiful bird image is one of the plates included and I love the idea of using it to create a simple gift bag. Here, I paired the letterpressed die cut with a strip of patterned paper.

{1} Die cut and letterpress tags {2} Adhere strip of patterned paper to kraft bag {3} Adhere letterpress tag

For this adorable set of valentine’s day cards, I used the Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress paper, which is great for flat notecards. The thick paper gives nice weight to flat stationery. Again, I combined stamping with letterpressing. To finish off the favor, I added a tube of beeswax lip balm!

If you happen to own impression plates, you can achieve very cool results by first adding texture to the paper before letterpressing it with your Fiskars Fuse.  For each of these tags, I used coasterboard from Papertrey Ink and I love the way they turned out.
