Clear and Simple Stamps Release Week: Rag Dolls Collection

True story:
When I was in third grade my friend and I decided that we wanted to earn some money. I don’t remember what we wanted the money for, but we can all be sure it was something of dire importance…you know, like the entire Fall collection of Lisa Frank stickers or a new friendship bracelet.
We decided to open up a magic stand in front of her house….yes, you read correctly… a magic stand.
Same idea as a lemonade stand, but so much awesomer. Too many lawns were flaunting lemonade stands that summer. The market was saturated. What folks really needed was a nice, refreshing magic trick  – 50 cents a pop, a downright steal if you ask me.  For one week, we developed our plan – but somehow managed to learn… not… one.. single… magic… trick.  As you might imagine – things went downhill from there. On the day of our grand opening, which just so happened to coincide with our Going Out of Business sale, we fumbled through a few tricks for our parents, who didn’t have the heart to tell use we sucked.
Next day, we opened a lemonade stand.
Day after that: Lisa Frank sticker shopping spree.
Fast forward to today, when I am entirely too old to be manning a lemonade stand in front of my house and instead, get to have tons of fun with some new Clear and Simple stamps products that totally remind me of my early days as Co-CEO of the now defunct magic stand.
The stamps included in the Ragdolls: House Shop and Ragdolls: House Stand are so darn clever and adorable and will definitely have you jonesing to open up shop.
Today, I’ve got two projects to share with you and I hope you’ll like them – I promise they are better than my magic tricks.

For this first treat bag, I stamped the main house image from Ragdoll: House Shop onto the Rag Doll House die. Then, with a craft knife, I removed the window of the image to create a nice area for showcasing the treats packaged inside the  CSS Clear Candy Flat Bottom Bag.

I was excited to discover that the little girl included in the Mia: You set fits perfectly in the window of the shop – and adds the perfect amount of character to this treat. I just cut her out with scissors and added her to the shop window – it looks like she’s been there all along!

To finish off the treat bag, I added another Rag Doll House die cut to the back so that it stood up nicely.

Now, let’s be honest…how darned cute is this bag with all those macaroons inside?! (And after yesterday’s cake pop confession, you’ll be happy to know that I only ate one of these macaroons. The rest lived to see another day).

My next project, pays homage to the beloved Starbucks – you know, the cake pop store.
This time I colored in the Ragdoll: House Shop using S. Buck’s famous kraft and green color combo, and used the finished product as a tag on a box full of yummy biscotti. Each of the images in the shop window are included in the stamp set, making it really fun to customize the look of your coffee shop.
On the back of the House Shop tag, I adhered the Mini Trifold Die, which was perfect for holding a gift card.
This would be the perfect gift for any coffee lover!

  2. A Magic Stand? I love it! How funny. I love the memories that you share. How great that Mia fits in the stand. I didn’t see that coming. The treats look so yummy. The colors are so pretty. How clever… the bag and the shop together. So fun! I can’t wait to see what else you do with this series!

  6. These are so cute! Love your magic stand story- we had a candy stand as kids and for some reason I still don’t understand unpackaged and touched every single piece of candy before selling it.

  11. LOVE your story! Like your treat bags! Love the bakery shop image and ragdoll, and the three-fold tag on the biscotti (forget the cake pops and macaroons–make way for my biscotti-hee!) Great, crafty projects. 🙂
