DIY Paper Mache Pineapple Wall Art

Eat your fruit. Or hang it up on the wall. Same thing, right?

I’ve had these big ‘ol paper mache Easter eggs hanging around the studio…well… since Easter and I swore I’d figure out something to do with them, eventually. Welp, I did and the result is completely non-Easter in every way. I love a clever craft and today’s DIY paper mache pineapple wall art may just top the ranks of clever. This project takes gallery wall to new heights, or should I say depths. It sort of like those huge taxidermy wall hangings except this is way less creepy and has fewer eyeballs that stare at you no matter where you are standing. No ten-point deer were hurt in the making of these wall hanging. Just one paper mache easter egg, and I’m pretty sure the procedure was painless. You be the judge.

MAKE THE PINEAPPLE BODY

Use a craft knife to cut away the back third of the egg as shown // Paint the egg with yellow craft paint / Use a paint pen to draw lines and dots on the egg.

MAKE THE PINEAPPLE TOP

Cut the 12×12″ paper in to three strips, approximately 6″, 4″ and 2″ in width. // Cut each piece into a grass strip as shown // Roll the 6″ wide piece and glue the bottom to hold it together // Continue rolling the strips until you have a three tiered shape //  use your finger to curl each of the “leaves”

ASSEMBLE THE PINEAPPLE

Use the craft knife to cut a hole in the top of the pineapple / place the topper into the hole, use hot glue to secure it in place if needed

To frame your pineapple masterpiece, just use hot glue to adhere the pineapple to a piece of patterned paper and frame that sucker!

One other thing is the fact individual states have their own laws which affect property owners, which makes it very difficult for the our lawmakers to come up with a whole new set of rules concerning property foreclosures on home owners. The problem is that a state has own regulations which may interact in an unwanted manner in regards to foreclosure plans.
