Today’s post is a quick one that is perfect for crafty people at every level. Basically – you have no excuse to not make these!
About a week ago, I got an awesome email from Martha Stewart Living, inviting me to join fourteen other crafty bloggers in a program called “12 Months of Martha.” Each month, I will receive a box of Martha Stewart crafting goodies and post projects using them. My goal is to share as many projects as I can with that box of goodies so you should be on the lookout for many Martha inspired projects.
In the spirit of my monogram obsession, I decided to create these monograms using a product that I purchased from Michael’s. I paired it with the scoring board included in my 12 M.O.M box to create colorful medallions.
{1} Crafter’s clay which is included in the MS Crafter’s Clay Heirloom Starter Kit
{3} Scroll frame silicone mold which is included in the MS Crafter’s Clay Heirloom Starter Kit
{4} MS scoring board used to create accordion folds on a 2″ strip of paper. Fold should be spaced 1/4″ out from each other.
{1} Mix the clay colors to get your desired shade. The clay kit comes with a very comprehensive guide on how to combine the clays to get any color you’d like.
{2} Press the clay into the mold with your fingers. The clay is super light-weight and easy to work with. It’s not sticky and doesn’t stain you hands.
{3} You don’t need to wait long to turn out your clay shapes. Gently bend the silicone mold and the shape will come out easily. You’ll want to let the final product dry overnight to get a bit stiffer.
This is a great project for decorating packages and leaves the recipient with a keepsake embellishment!
I absolutely love everything you do!! This is soooo cool.
