Today is the day! Twelve crafty bloggers join forces to tackle a box full of supplies and see what we can come up with. That’s what Trade and Made is all about!

Trade & Made Blogger Challenge: Easy Tassel Charms | Damask Love Blog

A few weeks ago, I was invited to join this fun craft challenge. We each received the same box of supplies and were charged with creating something with “nothing.” The box was filled with tons of supplies, yet none of them had a specific purpose. That’s what made this so fun. You could really take this in any direction. I selected a few items from my stash: wood beads, embroidery floss and Β a few jewelry findings included in a jewelry kit. Tassels are majorly popular right now, and these here tassels cost a whopping $2.00 to assemble.Β Here’s how it came together…Trade & Made Blogger Challenge: Easy Tassel Charms | Damask Love Blog

{1} You’ll want to widen the hole in the wood bead by using a drill. This will create enough space in the bead to thread the embroidery floss through and cover the entire bead with floss.

{2} Thread the embroidery floss onto a needle then go through the middle hole and around the bead until the entire bead is covered with thread and no wood is visible from the outside.

{3} To create the tassel portion of the charm, simply wrap embroidery floss around your hand…or in this case, I used the wood plaque included in our Trade & Made supply kit.

{4} To finish the tassel, pull it off the wood plaque (or you hand…or whatever else you used!) and tie off the top with floss and cut the bottom.

{5} Last, you’ll simply attach the tassel and wood bead. To do this, use the excess floss that you used to tie together the tassel and thread it up and through the center of the wood bead. At the top of the wood bead, use this excess thread to tie on the clasps.
