There is a food truck in Miami called Acee’s Icees. I have long believed that Acee is lacing his lemon icee’s with some sort of illegal substance. Those icees are a thing of dreams. If you are ever in Miami, get you one. Or four. And text me. I’ll come meet you. I’m not even kidding.
During the summer, I issue myself an unlimited pass for Acee’s Icees. I can eat ’em whenever I want. And I do. Everytime I drive by that truck, I get one. Moral of the story? Summer is for lemon icees. It just is. Summer is also for lemon-themed craft supplies. For those times when you can’t make it to Acee’s.
So today I kick off the “Damask Loves…” feature with a round up of my favorite lemon-themed goodies.
one:: lemons & tequila tote. Man, do I love me a snarky tote. I have way too many of them and I’m about to have one more, because this tote gets it right. Screw the lemonade, use those lemons to throw back an ice cold shot of tequila. Or as I refer to it “To-Kill-Ya. Long story. It was college.
two:: emily mcdowell card. I am such a huge fan of Emily McDowell. She just gets it. On every single level, she gets it. And she was on Good Morning America for crying out loud, so obviously she is running the card-making game. Her line of empathy cards is no exception and I absolutely love her “When life gives you lemons” card. It’s a reminder to all of us who are at a loss for what to say to a sick friend. Whatever you do, don’t tell your friend a story about someone who died of the same illness. Not helpful. At all.
three:: citrus bliss patterned paper. Any respectable crafter has a raging patterned paper addiction. Admit it. You have one, don’t you. Well, add this pretty pack of loveliness to your collection. The whole Citrus Bliss collection by Pink Paislee is beautiful and vibrant, but I especially love each pattern in the paper pad. It speaks to my love of bold brightness …and lemons.
four:: citrus bliss wood veneer embellishments. One more shout out to Citrus Bliss. These little wood thingamabobs are just too cute. I have them sitting on my desk in a jar, because that’s the sort of thing I like to do with cute thingamabobs. Heaven forbid I actually put them to use. Who does that?
five:: lawn fawn make lemonade clear stamp set. Summer is calling for you to create some handstamped stationery – and these cutie patootie little lemons from Lawn Fawn are begging to be included in the fun. The stamp set rings in at $6 so it’s a great one to add to your stash for cards, party decor or just playing around. If you’re new to the whole stamping thing, check out the “Clear Stamping” in Craft 101 to see how easy it is to do!
Can you think of any other lemony stuffs that didn’t make the list?
If you’re in the spirit for more lemon themed crafts, I got you…
