A few weeks ago a friend asked me “what is so great about baker’s twine?” Asking me that question is like asking Beyonce “what’s so great about surfboards?”

Baker’s twine is my go to for finishing off pretty little packages. Thanks to this post, my baker’s twine corner is relatively organized – but from time to time I like to package up smaller spools to give away to friends or include in a crafting kit, like the one of page 23 of the Toile Valentine’s Day issue.

And now for today’s project. This is where things get easy. Incredibly easy. Like Sunday Morning.

Easy Like Sunday Morning Paper Twine Spools | Damask Love BlogIf you are a somewhat experienced crafter, these are tools that you like have in your stash. For you beginners, these are all supplies that you can use again and again in a variety of ways – so go ahead and add them to your collection.

Easy Like Sunday Morning Paper Twine Spools | Damask Love Blog{1} Punch scalloped square from kraft cardstock

{2} Place ruler at the edge of the scalloped square, allowing the scallops to extend as shown

{3} Use your craft knife to trim away the center scallops, leaving the top and bottom scallops uncut.

{4} Repeat on the other side of the scalloped square to create this shape.

IMG_1411Easy Like Sunday Morning Paper Twine Spools | Damask Love BlogIt will take you all of sixty seconds (if that!) to make one of these little spools and then it’ll be time for your next job: deciding how to use them! Add them to a craft kit, or use them to contain any baker’s twine scrap pieces that you don’t want to throw away. How will YOU use your paper spools? If you need some twine-y inspiration, head over to Pinterest and follow my newest board: {i damask love} baker’s twine! I’m pinning as we speak!

  1. Seriosly Amber, how do you come up with ideas?!?! This is just brilliant!!! Top shelf quality stuff! Now I’ve got to get started on making these goodies. 🙂

  2. LOL, I didn’t know Beyonce surfed ;oP

Really cute idea, Amber!! Clever idea, too – to use a trimmed scalloped square – your creativity is endless!

  3. Brilliant, Amber, why didn’t I think of this? All my colors of twine are tangled up in a pretty tin storage container with loose ends hanging everywhere. I. must. do. this. soon. TFS!

  4. I just wrap my small pieces of twine around a scrap piece of paper or cardstock, not pretty, this is a nice way to keep organized and uniform, thanks
